PhotoTravel takes us from Photo Journey to the “Day of the Dead” is one of the most moving celebrations in the world.
Mexico honors its ancestors with flowers, lights, offerings, and a ritual aesthetic that excites and fascinates any photographer. This trip is designed to experience the party from within: colorful markets, traditions that endure, communities that open their doors and nights that combine mysticism, silence and beauty.
An in-depth tour of Mexico City and Michoacán, two of the cultural hearts of this celebration.

Arrival of the group in Mexico City and check-in at the hotel.
In the afternoon we will take a tour of the Historic Center, where we will get to know some of the most emblematic corners of the city. Afterwards we will enjoy a small food tour to start the trip feeling the local flavor.
We close the day with a sunset from a panoramic terrace while we have dinner overlooking the city.

In the morning we will live a photographic experience in Xochimilco, navigating between traditional canals. There we will have breakfast in a chinampa, one of the oldest agricultural systems in Mexico.
Later we will visit the Chapultepec Castle, a museum full of history and magnificent settings for photography.
At the end of the day we will go up to a private rooftop, perfect for capturing the golden light of the sunset over the city.

We will spend the day exploring some of Mexico City’s most representative markets during this season.
We will photograph catrinas, marigold vendors, artisans and the daily life that is transformed during the Day of the Dead.
We will visit traditional markets, craft stalls and an exotic food market that always surprises the traveler.

Before leaving for Michoacán, we will have a more relaxed day.
We will take a photowalk through the Historic Center with models who will wear traditional Mexican costumes, ideal for portrait sessions.
In the afternoon we will have a catrina session, where we can play with lighting and styling to obtain more controlled and creative images.

Transfer by road from Mexico City to Michoacán, a region deeply linked to the traditions of the Day of the Dead.
We will visit Capula, famous for its artisans and for the creation of clay catrinas. We will walk between workshops and bazaars to document the life and work of master ceramists.

We start the day by photographing the traditional fishermen of the region.
Then we will visit the town of Pátzcuaro, one of the cultural epicenters of the Day of the Dead.
We will take a boat to the island of Janitzio, where we will take documentary photography of the festive atmosphere, its offerings and its pantheon.
We will end the night in the cemetery of Tzintzuntzan, illuminated by candles and full of families who watch over their loved ones, one of the most shocking scenes of the entire trip.

Day dedicated to the documentation of offerings, altars and preparations .
During the afternoon and evening we will visit several cemeteries in Pátzcuaro, where families welcome souls with flowers, music and light.
We will live the Night of Souls, a deeply symbolic and visually powerful experience.

Before returning to the capital, we will take photography in the Historic Center of Morelia, a colonial city full of charm.
Once in Mexico City we will visit the Pantheon of Mixquic, one of the most emblematic in the country during this date.
Transfer to the hotel
Overnight in Hotel, Breakfast.
At dawn we will go up to the private viewpoint of the Latin American Tower, the highest point of the Historic Center, to say goodbye to the trip with a spectacular photo session.
Farewell breakfast and end of the program.

First thing in the morning, according to international flights we will arrive in our City of Origin, end of our Mexico Photographic Trip “Day of the Dead”.
