Mongolia Photo Tour

Departure by international flight to Ulaanbaatar.

Night on board

After the formalities of entry into the country, we move to the hotel. A short break and enjoy a typical dinner at a local restaurant.

After breakfast we go to photograph a prodigy of Mongolian nature: Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa), a beautiful place in the south of the country whose impressive landscape of white and ochre cliffs resembles a Buddhist stupa. From there we will continue our route to the city of Dalanzadgad, at the gates of the Gobi desert. Our last destination for today will be the Yol Valley, an imposing mountain range in the middle of the desert.

After breakfast, we will head to one of the wonders of the Gobi, the Khongor sand dunes, with its imposing view of the steppes, and where we can enjoy photographing the camel caravans, especially at sunset at sunset.

Sunrise, with the first rays of light, is another magical moment to photograph the sand dunes of Khongor, some of which are 80 metres high. Again the camels and their shepherds will be the perfect complement to our photo session. The background is unmatched; a horizon of endless curves meandering through impressive mountains that are tinged with pink.

We will get up early to take the last pictures of the sunrise in the sand dunes of Khongor. After breakfast we will depart in the direction of Bayanzag (flaming cliffs). The area has great paleontological value and interest, in addition to its fossil discoveries of dinosaurs and velociraptors, it is famous for having been the place where the first dinosaur eggs were found. But if there is one thing that makes this enclave special, it is its red sandstone cliffs, which seem to be on fire when illuminated by the sun, giving the area its name. We photograph the sunset from panoramic locations that will give us an overview of the cliffs in full flames.

Early breakfast to return to Ulaanbaatar. The first part of our journey is over. Today we will dedicate it to return to Ulaanbaatar, where the next day we will take the plane that will take us to the starting point of the second part of the PhotoTravel adventure in Mongolia.

There is no time to lose, early in the morning we will go to the airport to catch the flight that will take us to the city of Olgii. As soon as we land, the vehicles will be waiting for us to meet the local Kazakh family that will be our host in this area of the country. Your company will open the doors for us to take photos of the locals. We will photograph them in their homes, in their traditional clothes, and afterwards, we will have the opportunity to photograph a group of eagle hunters at sunset, in a stunning place surrounded by mountains.

After breakfast, we return with our Kazakh host family to the same area. Today is going to be a very special day for us; We will be able to enjoy a private eagle festival, organized by locals committed to the preservation of traditional Kazakh heritage , just for us! Between 10 and 15 eagle hunters at our disposal, mounted on their horses and dressed in their traditional dark coats and scarlet hats, with eagles floating in their arms, which we will be able to photograph in various places: mountain ridges, river curves and marshes with splashes and reflections. We will be able to enjoy the privilege of seeing the golden eagles up close, and even feel that one of them lands on our arm. We can also ask any of the hunters for a private portrait session. You’ll feel like you’re on a movie set and can take hundreds of good images without crowds behind you.

After breakfast we will set off to another of the epic places to take photographs, the foothills of the Altai Mountains. There will be waiting for us five hunters with their eagles for an unforgettable photo shoot: the background will be adorned by the sacred mountain Tsambagarav (4208m), in a stunning location, with rocky and sharp mountains on one side and snow-capped mountains on the other.

Today we will get up early to photograph the sunrise. Three eagle hunters will accompany us to decorate the photographic scene of the first rays of light. After a picnic breakfast, we will head to the town of Hovd. On the way we will be able to observe and photograph some of the imposing landscapes through which we will travel. After visiting the city, we will fly to Ulaanbaatar. When we arrive, after resting at the hotel, we will enjoy a warm farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

It’s time to end our photography adventure in Mongolia. We will go to the airport to take the flight that will return us.
