Welcome to our next photography trip to the Holi Festival of India!, one of the most colorful and joyful festivals in the world, and at PhotoTravel we are excited to be able to take you to live this unique experience. The Holi festival is celebrated in honor of the Hindu god Krishna, and commemorates the victory of good over evil. It is a festival that celebrates the arrival of spring, and is characterized by the throwing of colored powder. People gather in the streets and in the Temples to enjoy music, dance and throw colored dust at each other. Our trip is designed to visit and enjoy Holi in four of the cities where it is carried out with more devotion and passion: Barsana, Nandgaon, Vrindaban and Mathura.
The Festival begins in Barsana, a week before, we are going to focus on these lesser-known dates to avoid the overcrowding of foreign tourists who are concentrated on the most relevant days.
A tradition known as “Lathmar Holi” takes place in these places, a tradition where women, dressed in traditional costumes and adorned with jewelry, beat men with wooden sticks as they try to escape. This symbolizes the struggle between the goddess Radha and the god Krishna in Hindu mythology. After this “fight”, both groups come together and celebrate the festival together, with music, dances and throwing colored powder. In addition to this unique tradition, other cultural activities also take place during the festival. All to bring to life a joyful and colorful celebration that combines ancient traditions with music and modern fun. A truly unrepeatable experience that you should not miss! We land in Delhi, after the entry procedures to the country, transfer to the Hotel, check in and short rest.
Today we have to live the first experience in India, we will cross Delhi by rickshaw (motorcycle taxi) to visit some of the temples and monuments of this impressive city.

After breakfast we travel in our Minibus to the city of Barsana, where Laddu Holi is celebrated at Sri Ji Temple.
Barsana is the city where the Holi Festival begins a week before its best-known date.

Barsana Lathmar Holi Today is the day when Lathmar Holi is celebrated in Barsana, where you can experience first-hand one of the most unique and exciting traditions of Holi festival in India. We will join the party and have the opportunity to participate in the tradition of the “palos”. After the “fight”, there will be live music, dancing and throwing of colored powder.

Today we move to Nandgaon where Lathmar Holi is celebrated in Nand Bhawan.

Today a very special Holi is celebrated, today the Holi Festival is celebrated with colorful flowers!, at the Phoolwalon Ki Holi Bankey Bihari and Rangbharni Holi Temple.

Depending on the activities in Vrindaban, in the afternoon we will move to Agra to enjoy the sunset on the sacred Yamuna River.

After checking out at around 10.00 am we will travel from Agra to Delhi airport, from where we will take the plane back to our cities of origin.

First thing in the morning we will arrive in our hometown, the end of our Holi Festival Photo Trip, India.
