…”Our reward is focused on the effort and not on the result. A total effort is a complete victory”…
Mahatma Gandhi.
When scheduling a high mountain trip, uncertainty is one of the main variables. The most important thing to tackle the steep summits is not always physical condition. Values, both individual and collective, are decisive to reach the top. Courage, willpower, the desire to excel, solidarity, companionship or the ability to overcome are fundamental factors to achieve the goal. The ascent to a great summit is still the metaphor that illustrates the path of self-knowledge, a means of personal growth focused on self-realization.
A few days ago we left for the Everest Base Camp Trek Photography Trip and we were all wondering if we would be able to complete the challenge. We did not know what our real possibilities were. The feeling of doing something that you know can be done is different from the one in which, because we are neophytes, we do not know our possibilities. The moment the mountain appeared before us and we began to walk, each of us had to face our strengths and weaknesses, our fears, tiredness, helplessness… Thus began the process of self-knowledge. At every step we had to overcome our own challenges.
This trip has taught us many things. We have learned to know ourselves, to control our will, to accept ourselves, to recognize our insignificance within the natural world. Without a doubt, one of those trips that we will never forget. An experience that helps you walk more firmly through life.
It was an unforgettable experience, at times moving, to see that group of PhotoTravellers surpass themselves at every step, fight against the terrain and against their fears, encourage each other and support each other until they merge all wills into one. I feel tremendous pride when I remember how those brave men were able to overcome adversity with their inner strength alone, making good the popular saying that if one wants, one can…
You deserve the greatest of my recognitions. You are true phototravellers out of 10! And this diploma accredits you. Congratulations.
We also want to give a very special mention to the entire PhotoTravel Nepal team for being able to make this dream come true, a team of professionals commanded by the guides, Pepe Roman, Pemba, Iman, Kiran, accompanied by the 13 magnificent porters who were always so attentive so that we did not miss anything, and our 5 Yaks!! … THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!
Next 2020 we will return in November to realize a new dream, closer to heaven.
He loves you
