Feel the silence of the Sahara. Feel the ancestral energy that emanates from this natural giant that defines the identity of all of North Africa.
Another year… we’re going on a photo trip to Morocco!
And this is no ordinary edition: we are celebrating the 25th edition of this PhotoTravel classic, a journey that is already part of our history and that of many travelers.
In this new adventure , two nights await us in the heart of the Sahara Desert , in Merzouga, where we will explore the dunes on camelback and also in 4×4 vehicles, exploring the endless tongue of golden sand that stretches beyond the visible.
As always, we’ll be working on the fundamentals of travel photography , both technical and artistic: equipment, lighting, composition, portraiture… And we’ll do it in the best possible setting. Each day will be an opportunity to put theory into practice , solidify our knowledge, and continue growing as photographers, with our feet firmly on the ground and our eyes on the horizon.

After customs formalities, we will transfer to the hotel to check in and rest briefly.
We will enjoy a delicious meal in an authentic Moroccan restaurant, perfect to start savoring the trip.
In the afternoon, we will prepare the photographic equipment and go out to capture our first moments in the vibrant medina of Marrakech and the legendary Jamaà el Fna square , where life bustles amidst aromas, colors, music and glances.
A first contact with Morocco… and with magic.
Night in Hotel. Bed and breakfast.
After breakfast, we’ll head south on a day full of contrasts and unforgettable landscapes. Our destination: Ait Ben Haddou and the Dadès Gorges .
We will cross the imposing Tizi-n-Tichka pass, at an altitude of 2,260 meters, traversing the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, the rugged yet serene beauty of Morocco will unfold before our eyes: ochre mountains, Berber villages clinging to the rock, and a light that transforms every bend in the road into a picture postcard.
We’ll arrive at the legendary fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou , declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986. Its adobe towers, silhouetted against the sky, have been the setting for many great films. We’ll cross the river on foot to photograph its magnificent kasbah up close, one of the most beautiful architectural ensembles in the country.
After lunch, we will continue our route through the Valley of Roses and the Skoura palm grove , until we reach the majestic Dadès Gorges , where we will spend the night.
An intense, photogenic, and deeply inspiring day of travel.
Night in Rural Hotel. Accommodation and half board.

We set off towards the first tongues of the Sahara Desert , crossing the impressive Dadès Valley and traveling along the legendary Route of a Thousand Kasbahs , a journey dotted with Berber villages that seem suspended in time.
After about 45 kilometers, we’ll arrive in Tinghir , where we’ll pause to admire its extensive palm grove, a verdant oasis amidst the arid landscape. From there, we’ll continue to the majestic Todra Gorge , a natural spectacle that will offer us new photographic opportunities.
We’ll have lunch en route to Merzouga , and little by little, in the distance, we’ll begin to glimpse the golden silhouette of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Upon arrival, we’ll mount camels to venture into the heart of the desert. The sun will begin to set as we ride across the sand towards our Berber tent camp , where a magical night awaits us.
We will have the opportunity to photograph an unforgettable sunset and, for those who wish, sleep under a starry sky that seems within reach .
Overnight in Haima in the Sahara Desert, half board.

Before dawn, we’ll rise to climb to the top of one of the great dunes and silently witness one of the most magical moments of the trip: the sunrise over the desert . The golden light caressing the dunes is a spectacle that will be etched in your memory forever.
We will return by camel to the Erg Chebbi camp, still enveloped in that unique calm that can only be experienced in the Sahara.
After breakfast at the lodge, an exciting day awaits us: we’ll spend the day exploring the desert and its surroundings in our 4×4 vehicles. We’ll travel along the old Paris-Dakar Rally route , visiting remote villages, old mines, nomadic settlements , and discovering the secrets hidden in every corner of this vast and fascinating landscape.
A complete immersion into the soul of the Sahara… full of unforgettable images.
Night at the Sahara Desert Hostel, half board.

After breakfast, we began our return journey, but more picture-perfect scenery awaited us. We headed towards Ouarzazate , crossing the stunning Draa Valley , where we stopped to visit one of its most iconic palm groves.
This valley, considered one of the most beautiful in southern Morocco, is a true oasis that winds between kasbahs, orchards and adobe villages, offering a last chance to capture the visual essence of southern Morocco.
Our route ends in Ouarzazate , the gateway to the desert and land of cinema, where we will spend the night remembering everything we experienced on this Saharan adventure.
Overnight stay in a rural hotel, accommodation, half board.

Today we begin our return to Marrakech , crossing the Atlas Mountains for the last time. After arrival and check-in at the hotel, we’ll delve back into the fascinating medina this afternoon.
We will visit the souk , a labyrinth of aromas, colors and sounds, and end the tour in the vibrant Jamaà el Fna square , the beating heart of the city, where there is always something to look at, taste or photograph.
A perfect afternoon to do some last-minute shopping , get lost with your camera in the narrow streets and say goodbye, with all your senses, to Morocco.
Overnight in Hotel, Bed and breakfast.
After breakfast, pick-up at the hotel and transfer to the airport according to the flight schedule.
With our memory cards full of pictures and our hearts full of experiences, we said goodbye to this land of light, sand, and hospitality.
End of our Photographic Trip to the Sahara Desert, Morocco.
An experience that is now a part of us.
